Mesa's Kit: Understanding Peacemaker
Mesa is Warframe's dedicated gunslinger. Her 4th ability, Peacemaker, channels a pair of Regulator Pistols that auto-target enemies in her line of sight and fire continuously as long as you hold the ability. During Peacemaker, Mesa cannot move freely but can rotate, and all incoming fire from her arc is deflected by her innate passive. The ability drains energy per second, so efficiency mods directly extend how long you can sustain it.
Peacemaker's damage scales with ability strength and with the mods placed on the Regulator Pistols themselves. The Regulators are an exalted weapon — a hidden weapon in your Arsenal listed as 'Peacemaker' that has its own 8 mod slots. These mods are completely separate from any secondary weapon you carry. This distinction is crucial: investing heavily in the Regulator's mod slots is what separates mediocre Mesa players from those clearing Steel Path Defense effortlessly.
Shooting Gallery (Mesa's 2) buffs her weapon damage and jams nearby enemy weapons. The buff cycles to a different ally every few seconds in multiplayer. It stacks additively with other damage buffs. Shatter Shield (her 3) is her survival tool — it reflects a percentage of incoming bullet damage based on ability strength, capping at 95% at roughly 200% strength. This makes Mesa nearly impervious to gunfire, which is the dominant damage type in most Warframe missions.

Mesa's Role in Groups & Steel Path
Mesa excels in Defense, Interception, and Survival missions where enemies funnel toward a central point. Peacemaker's auto-targeting sweeps a 170-degree arc and prioritizes enemies closest to the center of your view. In Defense missions, you can position Mesa at optimal angles and Peacemaker will clear entire waves without moving.
In Steel Path, Shatter Shield at 200%+ strength is nearly mandatory — it makes Mesa immune to the majority of projectile damage. Stack Adaptation alongside it for the rare non-bullet damage sources like Grineer blades and Infested toxin auras. With both active, Mesa is one of the most survivable Warframes in Steel Path.
Mesa Prime (the enhanced version) provides additional energy and armor plus polarity slots that reduce the Forma requirement for optimized builds. She drops from Void Fissure Relics and is a worthwhile farming target once you have completed the base Star Chart.
Frequently asked questions
How do I mod the Regulator Pistols?
Open your Arsenal, click on 'Abilities', and then click on the Peacemaker ability icon to access the Regulator Pistols as a separate weapon. They have their own 8 mod slots and use pistol mods. Changes to your equipped secondary weapon have no effect on the Regulators.
Is Mesa Prime worth getting over base Mesa?
Yes. Mesa Prime has higher base armor (115 vs 65), more energy (150 vs 150 base — same energy, but better starting), and comes with additional polarity slots that save Forma investments. She is strictly better than base Mesa and worth farming from Relics when available.
What is the minimum efficiency needed for Peacemaker?
Peacemaker drains 7.5 energy per second at base efficiency. At 175% efficiency (the cap), this drops to about 4 energy/second. With a Primed Flow or large energy pool, even 145% efficiency is workable in most missions. Lower than 130% makes sustaining long Peacemaker channels difficult without energy pickups.
Can Mesa be used in open world content like Plains of Eidolon?
Mesa can be used in open world bounties and enemy clearing, but Peacemaker requires you to be stationary, which makes mobile objectives less smooth. She excels at camp-style objectives. For Eidolon hunts, other frames are more optimal. For general Plains farming and bounty defense stages, Mesa performs very well.
Does Shooting Gallery stack with Roar?
Yes. Shooting Gallery adds a damage bonus that stacks multiplicatively with other damage multipliers like Roar. Running both simultaneously provides excellent damage amplification. In squads, having a Rhino use Roar while Mesa channels Shooting Gallery and Peacemaker creates a potent damage combination.
