Spring — Setting the Foundation
Day 1 of Spring, plant every Parsnip seed you were given (15 seeds). Parsnips mature in 4 days and sell for 35g each — fast cash while you wait for more profitable crops to become available. Use your first 500g to buy Potato seeds (80g, 6 days, 80g return) and Cauliflower seeds (80g, 12 days, 175g return). These also cover Community Center bundle requirements.
The pivotal moment of Year 1 is the Egg Festival on Spring 13. Save 1,000–2,000g before this date and use it entirely to buy Strawberry Seeds (100g each). Strawberries planted after the festival will yield two harvests (Days 22 and 26) at 120g per berry. Fifteen seeds bought for 1,500g will return around 3,600g gross — a 2,100g profit in just two weeks.
Use every morning before 6 PM to forage on the forest paths north of town. Spring forage items (Wild Horseradish, Daffodil, Leek, Dandelion) sell for 20–90g each and are needed for the Spring Foraging bundle. Don't ignore foraging in Spring — it's free gold and XP with no time investment beyond the walk.
Summer — Blueberries and Mining
Summer's best crop is Blueberries. Buy as many seeds as Pierre stocks (80g each) and plant them on Day 1. Blueberries yield three berries per harvest every 4 days after initial 13-day maturation — five harvests in a season. Summer is also prime mining time. Push through the Mines to Floor 80, which opens access to Gold Ore. Gold Bars are used for sprinklers, tools, and crafting. By the end of Summer, aim to have the Copper Watering Can (5 Copper Bars + 2,000g at Clint's) and ideally the Iron Watering Can, which lets you water multiple tiles in a line — a significant time saver for larger fields.
Fish the Mountain Lake during Summer for Sturgeon — it's needed for the Specialty Fish bundle and produces Roe in a Fish Pond, which can be made into Caviar (670g) in a Preserves Jar. Even just catching one Sturgeon and setting up a Fish Pond gives you a passive Roe production income stream.

Steps
- Plant Cranberries (240g, multi-harvest every 5 days) and Pumpkins (320g, single harvest but high value) on Day 1.
- Reserve 6 tiles for Yam (Fall bundle), Eggplant (bundle), Corn (Summer/Fall both), and Bok Choy.
- Build your first 6 Kegs using Oak Resin + Copper/Iron Bars. Place them in a shed or your farmhouse.
- Process highest-value crops through kegs immediately — Pumpkin wine is 690g, Red Cabbage juice is 780g (Year 2).
- Use Preserves Jars (crafted from 50 Wood + 40 Stone + 8 Coal) on all Blueberries and Cranberries from Summer/Fall.
- On Fall 28, sell all preserved goods plus raw crops for maximum cash before Winter.
- Use remaining Fall days to mine for Geodes — crack them at Clint's for artifacts and gems to sell.
Tips
- Cranberries are the best Fall raw-sale crop due to their multi-harvest mechanic — plant as many as possible.
- Buy a few Grape seeds (Traveling Merchant or general store) — Grape Wine is solid value if you have spare kegs.
- Farm bats or slimes in the Mines for Bat Wings and Slime needed for crafting and bundle completion.
Mining, Geodes, and Gifts — Side Income Streams
Mining is the best activity during rainy days when crops don't need watering. Aim to reach Mines Floor 80 by Summer and Floor 120 before Winter. Each floor nets iron, gold, and copper ore, plus geodes (take to Clint for 25g crack fee), gems, and monster drops. Gems found in the mines sell for 50g–750g and don't require any processing.
Geode cracking costs 25g at Clint's blacksmith but can yield gems worth 50–250g or minerals needed for Community Center bundles. It's an efficient conversion of mining time into gold. Don't stockpile geodes — crack them regularly. Omni Geodes (found in deeper floors) can contain any mineral and are particularly valuable to crack.
Gift-giving to NPCs costs very little (foraged items, cheap crops) but builds friendship hearts. Higher hearts unlock events and some provide useful rewards. For example, reaching 2 hearts with most NPCs is free via the Community Center Bulletin Board bonus. Focus gifting on Clint (Blacksmith) early to unlock upgrade options and on any NPC whose heart event you want to see.
