Common Resource Farming: Nano Spores, Polymer Bundle & Plastids

Common resources are abundant but still needed in large quantities for crafting. Nano Spores are the most universally demanded common resource — nearly every Warframe and weapon blueprint requires them in quantities of 10,000 to 30,000. The best dedicated farm is Helene Defense on Saturn: 20-wave runs with a damage frame will yield tens of thousands of Nano Spores alongside other Saturn resources. Running a Resource Booster during a Nano Spore session can fill your inventory for weeks in under an hour.

Polymer Bundle is critical for Warframe components, especially those from Corpus and Grineer mid-game blueprints. Assur on Uranus (Survival) is the top Polymer Bundle farm due to high enemy density and Uranus's favorable drop table. Mercury also yields Polymer Bundle but at lower rates. If you hit a crafting queue and need Polymer Bundle immediately, Assur 5-minute runs are the fastest solution.

Plastids are needed for most Warframe Systems and Chassis components and appear primarily on Saturn, Uranus, and Phobos. Ophelia (Uranus Survival) is the best Plastids farm because of Uranus's combined drop table of Polymer Bundle and Plastids — running it for 20 minutes yields both simultaneously. If you are on Saturn, Helene yields some Plastids alongside Nano Spores, though less efficiently than Ophelia.

Helene Saturn Defense — Best Common Resource Farm

Location
Helene, Saturn — Defense

Steps

  1. Select Helene from the Saturn Star Chart. It is a popular public node that is always populated in the region.
  2. Equip a Warframe with high area-of-effect damage (Saryn, Mesa, Equinox) to clear waves quickly.
  3. Each wave spawns Grineer enemies — focus fire on them to complete waves as fast as possible.
  4. At wave 20, extract for 4 full reward rotations worth of resources and affinity.
  5. Repeat sessions until you have the desired quantity. Nano Spores, Polymer Bundle, and Circuits appear regularly.
  6. Bring Nekros for an additional 54% drop chance roll on each enemy corpse, increasing resource yield per session.

Tips

  • Equip a Resource Booster from the Market or Daily Tribute before farming — it doubles the quantity of resources in each pickup.
  • Helene is also an excellent affinity farm for leveling weapons, making it a dual-purpose node.
  • Bring a Smeeta Kavat with Charm for random resource doubling windows — these can generate 5–10× normal yields for 30-second windows.
  • Public squads on Helene are common and reliable — no need to recruit a dedicated group.

Rare Resource Strategy: Morphics, Argon Crystals & Tellurium

Morphics are a low-drop-rate rare resource needed in small quantities (1–3 per build) for various weapons and Warframe components. They drop primarily from bosses on Mercury, Mars, and Phobos. The Captain Vor / Lieutenant Lech Kril boss fight on Tolstoj (Mercury) or Spear (Mars) drops Morphics reliably. Since you need small quantities, targeted boss kills are more efficient than Survival grinding.

Argon Crystals are the most unusual resource in Warframe — they decay and disappear from your inventory 24 real-world hours after collection. They are Void-exclusive and used for high-end weapon blueprints. Farm Argon Crystals only when you are ready to craft immediately. Mot (Void Survival) and Ukko (Void Capture) are the best Argon Crystal nodes. Never stockpile them.

Tellurium is one of the rarest resources, required for Archwing and Amp components. It drops exclusively from Archwing missions and the Uranus open world. The easiest farm is Salacia (Neptune Archwing Mobile Defense) or any Archwing survival on Uranus. Resource boosters and Nekros cannot be used in Archwing missions, so bring a strong Archwing with good DPS to maximize kill rate.

Farming Frame Loadouts for Maximum Efficiency

  • Nekros + Smeeta Kavat — The gold standard farming combo. Desecrate re-rolls corpses, Smeeta's Charm randomly doubles pickups. Bring Animal Instinct (companion mod) for resource radar.
  • Khora with Pilfering Swarm — Her Venari Augment provides 100% extra drops from ensnared enemies. Best used in conjunction with a Nekros in the same squad.
  • Hydroid with Pilfering Swarm — His Tentacle Swarm augment provides 100% extra drops from enemies killed by tentacles. A fully built Hydroid + Nekros squad in Survival is extremely resource-dense.
  • Resource Booster + Resource Drop Chance Booster — Both stackable with farming frames. Together they provide 4× total resource multiplier on top of Nekros Desecrate.
  • Carrier Sentinel (Vacuum mod) or Fetch (companion mod) — Essential for auto-collecting resources in a 12–20 meter radius. Never farm without one equipped.
  • Equip Loot Radar mods (Thief's Wit or Animal Instinct) — Shows resource container and cache locations on the minimap. In Survival missions with containers, this can double the passively collected resources per run.

Frequently asked questions

What is the most commonly needed rare resource?

Orokin Cells are the single most demanded rare resource in Warframe — needed for virtually every high-tier craft including Orokin Catalysts, Reactors, and most Warframe Neuroptics. Maintain a large Orokin Cell reserve by running Gabii (Ceres) Survival with Nekros regularly.

Why do I keep running out of Nano Spores?

Nano Spores are deceptively abundant but needed in huge quantities per craft (10,000–30,000). Most players deplete their reserves during heavy Warframe construction phases. Dedicate one Helene or Eris Survival session per week with a Resource Booster to maintain a rolling supply of 50,000+ Nano Spores.

Can I trade resources with other players?

Yes. Most resources including Orokin Cells, Neurodes, Control Modules, and Tellurium can be traded player-to-player. Resources are worth very little Platinum individually (1–5 Plat per 20 units) but are useful if you need a specific resource urgently and have Platinum to spare. Check Warframe.market for current pricing.

Does Resource Drop Chance Booster stack with Nekros?

Yes. Resource Drop Chance Booster doubles the number of resource bundle rolls per enemy death. When Nekros Desecrate then triggers an additional 54% loot roll on that same corpse, both the extra booster roll and the Desecrate roll are independent. Combined, they dramatically increase total resource yield beyond either mechanic alone.

What is Cryotic and how do I get it?

Cryotic is a resource earned exclusively from Excavation missions. Each excavator that completes its cycle (100 seconds) produces 100 Cryotic. Cryotic is needed for Archwing crafting, Warframe component blueprints (particularly older ones), and some weapon recipes. Farm it on Hieracon (Pluto) or any Excavation mission with a Power Cell-carrying build.
