Palworld Pal Mastery Index — Best Pals, Breeding Chains, and Endgame Teams

How pal mastery actually works
A pal in Palworld has four things that matter: its base stats (capped by species), its work-suitability ratings (which jobs it can run at your base), its 4 passive skills (rolled at catch or inherited via breeding), and its condensing rank (each rank is +1 stat tier, up to rank 4). Catching duplicates and condensing them is how you push a pal from usable to endgame-ready. Breeding is how you transfer good passives between species — the breeding-chain guides cover the exact parent pairings for Jetragon, Frostallion Noct, and the other late-game targets.
This index splits the work by which decision you are making. Combat pals + endgame team builds cover the kit you bring to towers and dungeons. Base pals + work suitability tier list cover the assignment optimiser. Breeding + condensing + passive guides cover the long-term pal cultivation loop. Open whichever matches what you are working on.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best combat pal in Palworld?
Jetragon at endgame for raw damage + flying speed, Frostallion Noct for dark-element + ice damage scaling. Anubis sits just below them but is significantly easier to catch and breed. The best-combat-pals guide ranks every viable pick with reasoning; the breeding-chain guides cover how to reach Jetragon and Frostallion Noct via partner pairings.
Which pal should I assign to each base station?
Anubis for handiwork (crafting), Jormuntide for watering, Suzaku for kindling, Digtoise for mining, Beegarde for planting, Cawgnito for transporting at night. Multi-skill pals like Anubis can cover several stations, so a smaller pal roster with strong multi-skill picks usually outperforms many specialised single-skill pals. The work-suitability tier list ranks every pal by station.
How does breeding pass on passive skills?
Each offspring rolls 0-4 passives, prioritising parental passives. To lock a passive into an offspring, both parents should already have it — that maximises inheritance odds. The breeding-guide covers the exact inheritance math; the breeding-chain guides for Jetragon and Frostallion Noct cover the parent-species pairings.
What are the most important passives to chase?
Lucky (raise damage by 15%), Ferocious (raise attack by 20%), Musclehead (lowers attack speed but raises damage significantly), and Legend (the strongest top-end passive). Aim for 3-of-4 across these on any combat pal you main. The passive-skills tier list ranks every passive and notes which are worth re-rolling for.
When should I start condensing pals?
After mid-game, once you have a stable Alpha-catching loop. Condensing requires multiple duplicates, so it is only worth committing to once you have a species you plan to main long-term. The condensing guide covers the rank thresholds and stat-tier returns.
